The Congregation was founded by Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry , the first Bishop of Changanacherry, witnessed the merciful love of Christ, faithfully living out his motto, "Renew everything in Christ".

He was born at Champakulam (Kerala) in Kurialacherry family on January 14, 1873. He was fortunate indeed to have his priestly studies in Propaganda college, Rome . Following his ordination on May 27, 1899 he served as vicar in the parishes of Chennamkary, Kavalam, Edathua and Champakulam. Mar Thomas Kurialacherry was consecrated bishop on 3rd Dec. 1911. Upon taking charge of the vast and teeming diocese, the Servant of God committed himself with all his energy and divine help to the spiritual renewal of the Church. The "positio" illustrating the heroic virtues of the Servant of God was submitted to the Sacred Congregation for the cause of Saints in 1996. Now we have 16 Provinces as worldwide.
